Miss Sherry A. Steward

Miss Sherry A. Steward, 46, of Galesburg died 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois. 

She was born December 3, 1971 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Hosea Gardner and Florthy Vann Steward. 

Surviving is her mother, Florthy Steward of Chicago, Illinois, three daughters, Shenika Steward, Elisha Steward and Tanisha Steward all of Galesburg, Illinois, three sisters, Erma Steward of Galesburg, Dianna Steward of Skokie, Illinois, and Kateshia Steward of Chicago and a host of aunts, uncles and other family members.  She was preceded in death by her step father, Thurman Whiteside, her fiancé, Keith Coleman on February 10, 2018, a sister, Lakeshia Steward and a nephew, Albert Prater, Jr. 

Sherry graduated from Englewood High School in Chicago.  She later worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for several years.  She was a member of the Apostolic House of Faith and Prayer Church in Harvey, Illinois where she was baptized on January 23, 1983.  She liked shopping, music, and reading the Bible.  She also liked arts and crafts, decorating and collecting special items, for example, angels and crosses.  Sherry loved her children, her family, and her church. 

Funeral service will be 12 noon Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Bishop R.D. Vann will officiate.  Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
