Alan H. Dickson, 77, of Sun City Center, Florida, formerly of Galesburg, died at 12:30 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2020, at home.
He was born June 10, 1943, in Galesburg, the son of Harold and Lorraine (Malmrose) Dickson.
He is survived by a brother, Ross Dickson of Glendale, Arizona; a sister-in-law, Beverly Dickson of Palmetto, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lee Dickson and Marc Dickson.
Alan worked for Dick Blick in Galesburg for 28 years. He retired in 1999 as warehouse supervisor. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1961, and from Canton College in 1963.
Alan served in the United States Army during Vietnam as a mortar specialist. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Infantry medal.
Alan enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals baseball, playing golf, and his African Grey bird, Gizmo.
Cremation has been accorded. Graveside service with military honors will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2021 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev.
