Mr. Arthur “Art” Padilla Lopez, 78 of East Peoria formerly of Glasgow, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the OSF St. Francis Medical Center Emergency Room in Peoria.
He was born November 6, 1941 in Peoria, Arizona, the son of Manuel and Margarita Padilla Lopez.
Art is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Edwardsville; one son, James Gregory of Glasgow; four daughters, Kimberly Lopez of Dallas, Texas, Rhonda (and Rex) Kilburn of St. Augustine, Kelly Lopez of Havana, and Shara (and Eric) Fisher of Edwardsville; three sisters, Lupe Valdivia of Peoria, Arizona, Carmen Cruz and Josie Madril both of Coolidge, Arizona; 18 grandchildren including his eldest granddaughter, Mischa (and Scott) Waller of East Peoria, with whom Art resided with; an abundance of great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Pete and Carlos, his son, Scottie, and grandson, Bill Kilburn.
He was a United States Air Force veteran. He was an over-the-road truck driver for most of his life and covered the entire continental United States and he joked that his next goal was a load to Hawaii. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and followed his FOX News regularly.
Cremation will be accorded. As he requested, no services will be held. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting his family with arrangements.
