Belatedly, I send my condolences to Barry Barash's surviving family. I just now became aware of his death last year. I was one of his business law students during his brief stay at California's Humboldt State College. He was only 3 years my senior and we got along quite well with many "brown bag" lunch talks on almost any topic. It quite frankly was the hardest class I had taken up to that point yet I ended up with the highest grade in the class. It was my first introduction to the Socratic method of teaching. The way he taught the class and his personal encouragement motivated me to go on to law school after-which I became a trial attorney in California and Oregon for which I am grateful and attribute to him. Barry was well liked and made a big difference in my life. Thank you Professor Barash, may you RIP. -Dennis Halkides
