Mr. Charles Pierce Obituary

Chuck Pierce, with his wife and best friend, Sandy by his side, transitioned to his heavenly home on January 2nd 2024

He was welcomed by his mother and father James Delmar and Margret Jane (Burke) Pierce, Brother, Bob Pierce, sister Donna Cecil and sister Mary Catherine Pierce.

He was born on September 2nd 1939 in Doniphan Missouri, explaining why he could be as stubborn as a mule at times.

Chuck was a big man both in stature and personality. He was a jovial man and a jokester who liked to laugh and make others laugh. He was a people person and never knew a stranger.

Chuck attended Abingdon High school before enlisting in the United States Air Force and was very pround of his service. He worked around 34 years for Burlington Northern Railroad, holding several job titles and seeing it become BNSF before retiring in 1994.

He married Sandy on May 29th 1982. Together they shared 41 years of laughs, pranks, adventures and of course, hard work, trials and tears. He had often stated she was "the only one ornery enough to put up with me."

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed bow and gun hunting and traveled to Kahoka MO. twice a year with friends to hunt deer and turkey . He also loved fishing. River, lake, pond.. he didn't care. He also enjoyed woodworking and sitting on the porch with his beloved cats, Kitty, Winchester and Remington.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Pierce of Galesburg. Sons Bryan (and Kim) Pierce of Abingdon. Kevin Pierce of Galesburg. Lori (Vince) Huston of New Boston, Susan Pierce of Galesburg and Christina Gadbury (whom he thought of as his daughter)

7 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.
