Mr. Charles "Wayne" Tabb

Mr. Charles “Wayne” Tabb, 89, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

He was born June 27, 1935 in Abingdon, Illinois, the son of Walter and Selma (Johnson) Tabb. Orphaned at the age of 12, he was raised by Harvey and Henrietta Johnson through his teenage years. He married Joan Fielder on June 27, 1953 in Abingdon.

Wayne is survived by two daughters, Bev Nicholas of Cedar Rapids and Deb (and Mike “Rooster”) Fox of Abingdon; a son, Terry (and Lisa) Tabb of East Peoria; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren along with special friends Randy Hall and Karen Pence. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Tom Tabb and three brothers, Bob, Raymond and Herbie.

Wayne graduated from Abingdon High School in 1953. He worked for Gale Products for 15+ years until becoming owner/partner of G&W Harley Davidson in Galesburg from 1970 to 1997. He enjoyed anything that involved riding motorcycles or his family. Some of his fondest memories are from sponsoring his 2 sons in motorcycle racing in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday December 9, 2024 at Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to A.B.A.T.E of Illinois.
