Mr. Dale W. Ralston, 82, of Galesburg, Illinois died 9:15 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2022, at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.
He was born October 11, 1939, in Lexington, Illinois to Lee and Bessie (Wilson) Ralston. He married Carol K. Palmer in Lexington, Illinois in 1960. She preceded him in death, May 26, 2022.
Surviving is, a son, James T. (and Deb) Ralston of San Bernardino, California, a daughter, Lori (and Tom) Dowd of Geneva, Illinois, three grandchildren, Jessica Ralston, Nicole Ralston, and Cole (and Tyler) Spinks, and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Vernon Ralston and Robert Ralston, and infant twins.
Dale graduated from Lexington High School in 1957 and attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He was a manager at Alexander Lumber Company in Galesburg and later was the district manager. After approximately 40 years, he retired from Alexander Lumber Company in 1999. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg. He was involved in several church committees over the years, including many mission trips. Dale volunteered for the Galesburg Community Foundation and was a Reading Buddy at Cooke School. He was also a member of the Illinois Lumber and Material Dealers Association (ILMDA) and the Kiwanis Club in Galesburg. He enjoyed playing tennis at the Centre Court Racket Club and golfing at Bunker Links Golf Course, both in Galesburg.
Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2022, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel. Rev. Vince Rohn will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.
