Mr. David Chadderdon, 72, Chicago, died at 7:30 A.M. on Sunday, January 17, 2021.
David was born on August 28, 1948 in Macomb to George and Christine (Heffner) Chadderdon of Adair, IL.
Surviving are his brother George (Linda) Chadderdon, nephews George Chadderdon III, Phil (Rose) Chadderdon, niece Becky Griffith all of Galesburg, and niece Sue Waller of Bushnell. Also surviving are his treasured great nieces & nephews Teresa Pender, Traci Johnson, Amanda Malone, Haley, Jake & Josh Waller, and Nathan & Kathryn Chadderdon. Also surviving is his friend and caretaker William Woolridge. David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother & sister-in-law Maurice and Evelyn Chadderdon.
David was reared and educated in Adair and Macomb. He was a graduate of Macomb-Adair High School, spent two years in the U.S. Army, and graduated from Western Illinois University (MFA). David lived in Chicago where he worked as an actor, and as a security guard to make ends meet. He appeared in several plays in his life wherever he happened to be living. He received the 1977 Joseph Jefferson Citation for Actor in a Principal role for his performance in “Of Mice and Men” at the Wisdom Bridge Theatre in Chicago, and was nominated in 1980 for the Joseph Jefferson Award for Cameo Performance for his performance in “All’s Well That Ends Well” at the Court Theatre in Chicago. He also appeared in Chicago Story (1982), Lady Blue (1985) and Crime Story (1986), and in several Joe Sedelmaier and Illinois Lotto commercials. He retired in 2010.
Per David’s request, cremation has been accorded, and there will be no visitation or services. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
