Obituary

Mr. Donald R. Roach, 83, of Glendale, Arizona, formerly of Galesburg, Illinois passed away February 6, 2022, in Glendale. 

He was born October 25, 1938, in Galesburg to Troy and Bessie (German) Roach.  He married Claudette Yocum in 1976.

Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Clyde Roach of Glendale, five daughters, Teri Sartin, Kimberly DiGilio, Connie Kraft, Katherine Kolodziej, and Jodie Beer, twelve grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Norma (Pierson) Roach. 

Don graduated from Galesburg High School in 1956.  He was a conductor for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 41 years and retired in 2000.  He and his wife moved to Arizona in 2002.  He loved fishing, camping, and golfing.  He was a wonderful husband, loving father, and was an awesome grandfather and great grandfather. 

As Don requested, cremation was accorded.  There will be a graveside service in September of 2022 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with local arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
