Mr. Frank L. Mills, Jr.

Mr. Frank L. Mills, Jr., 84, of Galesburg, Illinois died peacefully at 8:20 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2023, at his home. 

He was born October 7, 1938, in Rock Island, Illinois to Frank L. and Katherine (Meadows) Mills, Sr.  He Married Anna D. Selph on May 4, 1958, in Galesburg.

Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Anna Mills of Galesburg, a son, Douglas (and Denise) Mills of Galesburg, a daughter, Lori (and Mark) Butkovich of Galesburg, a sister, Joyce Hodge of Galesburg, three grandchildren, Jason (and Breeanne) Mills, Blake ( and fiancé Hannah) Butkovich, and Cassidy (and David) Hazlett, four great grandchildren, Jersee and Jaclyn Mills and Vivianne and Mylon Hazlett, a nephew, Scott Hodge, and a niece Kathy Steele.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Frank moved to Galesburg in 1950 and attended Galesburg High School.  He was a semi-truck driver for Central Steel and Wire in Chicago, Illinois for 26 years and retired in October of 2001.  After his retirement, he drove cars for Bob Lindsey Used Cars in Galesburg.  He attended Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg.  He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local # 627.  Frank loved his work and had a passion for trucks.  Most of all, he loved his family. 

As Frank requested, cremation will be accorded.  A graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Abingdon Cemetery Mausoleum.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
