Mr. George E. Miller

Mr. George Miller, 83, of Galesburg, passed away at 2:41 PM on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

George was born on December 2, 1938 to Major P. Sr. and Lueginnia (Pitts) Miller in Brownsville Tennessee. He married Minnie Lou (Holloway) Miller in 1959, they since have separated.

George is survived by his children: Timothy Smith, Jennifer Shannon, Sharicka Dortch, all of Galesburg; his siblings Ruben Miller of Galesburg, Lester (Linda) Miller of Galesburg, James (Tammy) Miller of Galesburg, Edna Watkins of Cincinnati Ohio, Maxine Miller of Ripley Tennessee, and Teresa Miller of Galesburg; his companion Carol Donaldson of Burlington Iowa; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his children Bobbie Sue Bond, and William Thomas; and his siblings Wiley Miller, Fred Miller, Major Miller Jr., Sarah DeWalt, Ethel Kemp, and Juanita (Miller) Cunningham.  

George was born and raised in Brownsville Tennessee, moving to Galesburg in 1965. George had worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator, having great talent and knowledge for those machines. George was a hardworking man. He loved hunting and fishing. George had many stories to tell about himself and the outdoors.

Cremation is being accorded, a memorial visitation is will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
