Mr. George J. Raska

Mr. George J. Raska, 68, of Galesburg passed away 11:52 a.m. Tuesday June 1, 2021 at home.

He was born February 22, 1953 in Canton, Illinois to George and Patricia (Lewis) Raska.  He married Rose Marie Smith in 1979.  She survives. 

 Also surviving are three sons, George “Buddy” Raska Jr. of Utah, Clayton (and Michelle) Raska of Tennessee, and Justin Raska of Galesburg, four daughters, Shawna Raska of Oklahoma, Dana Caves of Galesburg, Franki Campbell of New Windsor, Illinois and Molly Campbell of New Windsor, two step sons, Mike Hillier and Kris Hillier both of Galesburg, a brother, Donald (and Carolyn) Raska of Indiana, a sister, Vicki (and Tim) Shoops of Galva, Illinois, 20 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents. 

 George attended Toulon High School, Toulon, Illinois.  He served his country in the United States Army from 1972 to 1974 and was stationed in Germany.  He worked for BNSF Railroad until his retirement in 1995.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

 Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  Cremation will follow the visitation.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
