Glenn L. Austin, 81 of Berwick, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital with his loving family by his bedside.
He was born June 25, 1937 in Johnston City, the son of Curtis and Liza (Orrick) Austin. He married Freda M. Wells on January 17, 1957 in McLeansboro.
Glenn is survived by the loving wife of 61 years, Freda; one son, Michael Austin of Berwick; four grandchildren, Terry Dean Austin, Jr., Jason Austin, Devon Austin and Cathy Beck and nine great-grandchildren, Kelsey Jones, Danielle Austin, Stephanie Austin, Nathaniel Austin, Krig Austin, Axel Austin, Bentley Allen, Ava Austin and Aliam Austin; two brothers, Lloyd Austin of Florida and Duane Austin of Clinton; three sisters, twins Thelma Norris of Benton and Velma Perryan of Thompsonville, and Evelyn Heath of Granite City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Terry Dean Austin, Sr., and one sister, Margaret, who was a twin to Duane.
Glenn has lived in Berwick since 2000. He worked in construction and also was a rock carpet and ceramic tile installer. He was a member of the Oasis Church of God in East Galesburg. He enjoyed watching old western movies on his tv and he enjoyed people.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Darrell W. Garrett will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
