Mr. Herman William "Bill" Bryant Jr.

Herman William “Bill” Bryant Jr., 83, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 11:55 a.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois.  Bill was born August 7, 1938, in Galesburg, Illinois, to Herman Bryant Sr., and Doris (Rollins) Bryant. He was raised in Galesburg and married his wife, Linda, on September 4, 1976, in Rock Island, Illinois. 

He is survived by his wife Linda, Galesburg, his son, Michael Russo, Normal, and Michael’s children, Jacob, Abby, and Lucas, his daughter, Melanie Lowe (Brandon Freitag), Galesburg, and her children Tyler, Tanner, and Makayla, his son, Mark Bryant, Monmouth, and his daughters Lori Nufer,  Christine Bryant-Jones and Judi Smith, Galesburg, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Also surviving his brother, David Bryant, Peoria, and his three sisters, Sharon Lawrence, Davenport,  Sharolyn Clark, Davenport, and Dixie Bryant, Peoria, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. 

Bill attended Galesburg High School, graduating in 1956. He managed a Phillips 66 gas station in Galesburg for several years. He also became an Insurance Salesman for Combined Insurance for many years, eventually retiring in 2000. Bill was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg since 1993. During his free time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and reading. He loved attending his families’ events and cherished each moment we shared together. 

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021, at 10:00 A.M., in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg, Illinois. Memorial contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church or Guardian Angels Humane Society.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services in Galesburg is honored to serve the family.
