Mr. James E. Root

Mr. James E. Root, 76, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 7:07 a.m., Saturday, July 10, 2021, in Marigold Nursing Home.

He was born February 4, 1945, in Galesburg, son of Kermit and Sally (Mitchell) Root.

James is survived by his son, Brian E. Root of PT. St. Lucie, Florida, his daughter, Jane (Rich) Foley of Bartlett, Illinois, and 5 grandchildren.

James graduated from Galesburg High School in 1963 and went on to obtain his knowledge at the RET Electronic Institute to work as a Lab Tach at Maytag Corporation. He worked as a Lab Tach for 31 years, retiring in 1999. James is a member of the 1st Lutheran Church and the Elks Lodge #894.

A committal service will be held at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens on Saturday July 17, 2021 at 10 AM with Chaplain Jordan Knight officiating.
