Mr. Jose Alberto Hernandez

Mr. Jose Alberto Hernandez, 44, of Galesburg, Illinois, died on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

Jose was born on November 6, 1977, in Veracruz, Mexico, as the son of  Marcos Pedro Hernandez and Isidra Hernandez. Along the way, he married the love of his life, Rosa Moreno on July 3, 2008.

Jose’s legacy lives on through his wife, Rosa of Galesburg, his two daughters, Aurora Chaidez of Monmouth, Illinois, Josefa Chaidez of Galesburg, his parents, Jose and Isidra of Veracruz, Mexico, and one brother, Jose Pedro Hernandez of Veracruz, along with 11 wonderful grandchildren.

Jose received his education and graduated high school in Veracruz, going on to work in the United States as a restaurant owner for El Jarochito in Galesburg for 11 years. He was a dedicated owner and was very thankful to all of the years of the community’s support and love for his business. When Jose had free time, he enjoyed traveling to Moline, Illinois to listen to Mariachi music and practicing his faith as a Fuente De Agua Viva church member. Jose’s memory will continue to live on through his family and the community that supported him, he will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 3, 2022, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., with a Funeral Service to follow at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Father Luis Camacho will be officiating the services. A Committal Service will take place following the Funeral Service at East Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg.
