Mr. Keith E. Brown

Mr. Keith E. Brown 70, of St. Augustine, Illinois died 11:26 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2023, at his home. 

He was born July 14, 1952, in Canton, Illinois to George F. and Mildred JoAnn (Kruzan) Brown.  He married Nina Park, January 13, 1979, in St. Augustine. 

Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Nina Brown of St. Augustine, two sons, Shane E. (and Kai Meister) Brown of Dunlap, Illinois and Zackery K (and Jennifer Watkins) Brown of Abingdon, Illinois, a sister-in-law, Darlene Brown of Abingdon, two granddaughters, Zoeie Brown and Paisley Brown, a nephew, Bryan Brown and a niece Brisk Kaiser.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kevin Brown. 

Keith graduated for Abingdon High School in 1970.  He worked for Outboard Marine Corporation, Gale Products Division in Galesburg, Illinois until it’s closure in 1982.  He was deeply appreciative of Gerry Allen, who gave him the opportunity to learn how to become a heavy equipment operator.  He later worked for William Robinson and other construction companies.  After 30 years as an operator, he retired in 2016.  Keith enjoyed the outdoors.  He enjoyed fishing, especially Bank Pole fishing with his father and friends.  He also enjoyed hunting, camping, and, in the spring, he could be found in the timber looking for Morel Mushrooms.  When he needed time to relax, he enjoyed riding around, sightseeing.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, sons, family, and friends. 

As Keith requested, cremation will be accorded.  A private family Celebration of Life will be at a later date.  Memorials in Keith Brown’s name may be made to OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Cardiac Rehab Department.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Abingdon Chapel is proud to assist the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
