Mr. Larry J. Farmer, 71, of Galesburg, Illinois died 9:39 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Allure of Lake Storey, Galesburg.
He was born July 6, 1952, in Paducah, Kentucky to Paul and Jonell (Blair) Farmer. He married Beatrice Wilson in 1973 in Galesburg.
Surviving is his significant other, Kaye Gipson of Peoria, Illinois, two daughters, Jonell (and Brad) John of Prairie City, Illinois and Brandi (and Jon) Baker of New Plymouth, Idaho, three brothers, Paul Farmer of Cleveland, Ohio, Dewayne (and Marta) Farmer of Paducah, Kentucky, and Ronnie Farmer of Owensboro, Kentucky, and five grandchildren, Kinsley (and Tim) Foshe, Syneca Baker, Ajani Baker, JJ Baker, and Sebastian John. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Anthony Farmer.
Larry was raised with his brothers by his aunt and uncle in Paducah and graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School in 1970. He moved to Galesburg and worked for Gale Products, Outboard Marine Corporation. He was an attendant for Wareco Gas Station on Academy Street in Galesburg. He later worked as a custodian for National Seal Corporation, Costa Grade School, and East Main Hy Vee all in Galesburg. Larry enjoyed music and was a DJ for several years when he was younger. He also enjoyed collecting model cars, fixing cars and trucks, and watching movies, especially Westerns.
