Larry “David” Pringle Sr., 70, of Abingdon, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at home surrounded by family.
He was born July 15, 1950, in Galesburg, the son of Thomas Tifton and Ruth Dee (Looper) Pringle. He married Janet Irene Johnson on January 2, 1971, in Abingdon. She preceded him in death on October 2, 2017 after nearly 47 years of marriage.
He is survived by five children, Larry David Pringle Jr., Brent Thomas Pringle, Brian Eugene Pringle, Erica Michelle Hawkins, and Alysha Beth Yerkey; 24 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Whited; and a sister, Shirley Parks. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter.
David worked at Gates Rubber Company in Galesburg for many years before retiring in 2005. He was a collector of antiques and coins. He enjoyed working on old cars, fishing, and hunting.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel. Due to guidelines associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and facemasks will be required with limited occupancy. Private family funeral will be Wednesday at the chapel. Rev.
