Mr. Lennie R. Hathaway, 58, of Galesburg, passed away peacefully at 5:48 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.
He was born on December 4, 1966, in Monmouth, the son of Howard and Pauline Annette (Yarde) Hathaway. He married Trisha Cameron in 1990 in Keithsburg, Illinois, and although they later divorced, they remained connected through their family. Lennie was engaged to be married to Tammy McCullough of Galesburg, who was his devoted partner and companion.
Lennie is survived by his fiancée, Tammy McCullough of Galesburg; four sons, Brandon (Melissa) Hathaway of Galesburg, Zac Hathaway of Kentucky, Ryan McCullough of Galesburg, and Jade McCullough of Missouri; one daughter, Brittany (Dan) Temple of Galesburg; a brother, Mark Hathaway of Galesburg; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Willie Crouch.
Lennie attended Monmouth High School and graduated in 1985. He went on to become a talented self-employed craftsman and artist, known for the creativity he poured into his work. He also served as a fast-food manager at the Monmouth KFC and Taco Bell. Lennie enjoyed crafting, cooking, spending time outdoors, fishing, playing darts, and watching football, especially the Chicago Bears or Miami Dolphins. Above all, he cherished every moment spent with his family.
As Lennie requested, cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family or to the American Diabetes Association.
