Mr. Leon Pulliam, 82, of Galesburg, Illinois formerly of East Moline passed away at 7:49 am Saturday, October 17, 2020 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center Galesburg.
Leon was born January 10, 1938 in Houston, Mississippi the son of John Ed and Desiree Pulliam.
Leon is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Denise Patterson, of East Moline; four brothers, James (Ann) Pulliam, Robert (Charlzene) Pulliam both of Rock Island, Illinois, Earvie C. (Georgia) Pulliam of East Moline and Calvin (Gloria) Pulliam of Belleville, Illinois; his sister, Mary Pulliam of Fairview Heights, Illinois; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Leon Pulliam, Jr., his daughter, Angela Pulliam, two brothers, John David Pulliam and DuEddie (Bright-Eye) and two sisters, Ruby Mae Hollingsworth and Arteria Pulliam.
Leon worked as a machinist for the former International Harvesters currently known as Navistar Harvesters in Springfield, Ohio for over 30 years. He was a member of the Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church in Galesburg.
Private Family Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 22, 2020 in East Linwood Cemetery with Rev. Toby Carlos officiating. Memorials may be made to his church, Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
