Mr. Michael J.T. Patton

Mr. Michael Jerrel Thomas Patton, 74, of Galesburg passed away at 12:10 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.

He was born on September 29, 1943 in Quincy, Illinois to Clydis Jerrel (Pat) and Mary L. Dills Patton. He married Beverly White on September 19, 1963 in Cameron, Illinois. She preceded him in death on January 20, 1996. He later married Margarita Rosa Ospina Ramirez on July 11, 1997 in Galesburg. She survives.

Also surviving is his son, Michael J. P. (Robin) Patton of Nashville, Tennessee area; his sister, Lucia (David) Sanford of Charlottesville, Virginia; his brother, Kevin Patton of Effingham, Illinois; three nephews, Shawn (Lynn) Patton of Mackinaw, Illinois, Derek (Jennifer) Patton of Homer Glen, Illinois and Kyle (Heather) Patton of East Peoria, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.

Mike moved to Galesburg in 1954 at age 11 and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1961.  He had lived in Geneseo, Illinois for two years.

Mike owned and operated Spudos & More Donut Shop in Galesburg for several years.  He also served as President of Utilities Service Corporation in Kickapoo, Illinois. He enjoyed antiques and other memorabilia. Mike was very fond of his pets.

Visitation is scheduled for Noon-2:00 pm Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Graveside services will follow immediately at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Jim Reynolds officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home to defer funeral costs. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
