Mr. Robert "Bob" R. Huff

Robert “Bob” R. Huff, 82, formerly of Galesburg, died October 22, 2023 in Knoxville, Illinois.

Bob was born in Peoria, the son of Drs. Francis Marion and Virginia (Trelease) Huff. Bob is survived by five nieces, Deborah (and Patrick) Garner of Downers Grove, Marian (and Dave) Schulz of Bloomington, Noelle (and Brian) Mcmillin of Hawaii, Julie Tinkham of Galesburg, and Cheryl Haupt of Georgia; one nephew, Russell Alstedt of Arizona; and many cousins, including Albert (and Sandy) Huff of Monmouth; and was preceded in death by his parents, a sister (Kathy Alstedt), and a brother (Jim Huff).

Bob moved to Galesburg in 1947, graduated from Galesburg High School in 1959, and studied at the Culinary Institute of America during 1971-73. He worked in the food services department at Galesburg’s Cottage Hospital for most of his life, retiring in 2014.

He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Galesburg. He enjoyed all kinds of music, especially opera, and attended many performances in Chicago and New York. Bob had also loved traveling.

Cremation has been accorded. No services are currently being held at this time. His remains will be scattered in East Linwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Galesburg. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is handling arrangements for the family.
