With heavy hearts, the family of Timothy Brian “Mass” Massangale announces his unexpected passing on October 9, 2021 in Denver, Colorado at the age of 62 years. Tim will be lovingly remembered by his beloved parents, Clinton & Christine Haynes of Galesburg, Illinois, his daughter Shauna (Alfonso) Pugh of Denver, along with his grandchildren, Austin & Aubree Pugh. Tim will also be fondly missed by his sister Kimberly (Sonny) Maxwell of Terre Haute, Indiana, brother, Marc (Teresa) Haynes of Galesburg, biological father LeeDale (Vera) Massangale, and special companion, Patty Harrison of Galesburg. He will be forever remembered by a host of nieces and nephews, whom he had close relationships with. He leaves to cherish his memory a great amount of additional family and dear friends.
Tim was born June 21, 1959 in Galesburg. He graduated from GHS in 1977 and was proud to be a member of the only undefeated sophomore basketball team at GHS (he would never let us forget.) He went on to spend some time at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas before returning to Galesburg. From there, Tim became employed by Wareco Gas Station before being hired on at United Parcel Service where he worked for 12 years. In 1990, Tim relocated to Colorado where he retired from the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment in 2016 after 27 years as a Senior Purchasing Agent. Tim went back to work with the Colorado Department of Transportation as a part-time Purchasing Agent since 2017.
Those that know Tim know that he cherished his family & friends, loved to have a good time, and his infectious personality could truly light up a whole room. He was a beacon of light to those that knew him, and his loved ones consider the time they got to spend with him here on earth a true GIFT.
