Obituary
Mr. William “Scott” German, 62, of Abingdon, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Friday April 28, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born July 24, 1960 in Galesburg, the son of William and Sonja (Knight) German. He married Linda Woodworth on June 4, 1999 in Macomb, Illinois.
Surviving is his wife, Linda; his mother Sonja German of Knoxville; step daughter Tina Speicker of Fort Pierce, Florida; sister, Beth (and Dave) Burrows of Galesburg; one niece Abigail Burrows and nephew Aaron Burrows of Galesburg; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
Scott graduated from Galesburg High School in 1978. He then attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa. He worked for ILPEA in Galesburg. He collected G.I. Joes and enjoyed doing carpentry work, spending time with family, antiquing and high school and college athletics.
Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held on May 6, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Abingdon American Legion. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
