Mr. William "Bill" Wesley Watkins

Mr. William “Bill” Wesley Watkins 58 of London Mills, passed away at 6 a.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the Rosewood Care Center of Galesburg.

He was born November 29, 1960 in Avon, the son of Donald Lee Watkins Sr. and Wilma Irene (Loveland) Watkins.

Bill is survived by his parents, Donald and Wilma Watkins of rural London Mills; one son, Joshua Levi (and Norma) Hendricks of Canton; one grandson, Grayson and one on the way; two brothers, Donald L. (and Sharon) Watkins, Jr. of London Mills and Randy L. (and Michele) Watkins of rural Abingdon; one sister, Mary A. (and Perry) Hirsbrunner of Galesburg; 5 nieces and nephews, David, Kelly, Dawn, Daniel and Erin; and 11 great-nieces and nephews, Pearl, Ethan, Nicholas, Kelsey, Wesley, Jasmine, Koleen, Dakota, Jozaphine, Noah and Andrew.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a great-nephew. 

Bill graduated from Spoon River Valley High School in 1980. While in high school, he played the drums in the school band and was a member of the FFA.   He worked at Maytag in Galesburg for 10 years.  He operated Buck’s Aviary for several years in London Mills. 

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel.  Rev. David Swain will officiate.  Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
