Mrs. Allie (Vinson) Lowery

Mrs. Allie Lowery, 93, of Galesburg, Illinois died 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg. 

She was born August 5, 1925 in Tunnel Hill, Illinois to Edward and Delia (Lingle) Vinson.  She married Joel Lowery May 23, 1953 in Peoria, Illinois.  He survives. 

Also surviving are two sons, Harold (and Mary) Henricks, of Henry, Illinois and Don (and Robin) Lowery of East Peoria, Illinois; six daughters, Betty Launius of Peoria, Illinois, Delores Cage of Peoria, Diane Nash of Pekin, Illinois, Linda Albietz of Galesburg, Barb (and Jesse) Martin of Abbeville, South Carolina and Kay (and David) Scholl of Galesburg; a twin sister, Aline Glenn of Peoria; 28 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Mike Henricks, a brother and two sisters. 

Allie worked in housekeeping at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria for 20 years.  She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Galesburg. 

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Harmony Baptist Church in Galesburg.  Rev. Chris Nissley will officiate.  Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.  A committal service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 in New Salem Cemetery, in Vienna, Illinois.  Memorials may be made to The Galesburg Rescue Mission.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
