Mrs. Audrey L. Carr, 95, formerly of Galesburg, Illinois died 11:38 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Homeview Health and Rehab in Franklin, Indiana.
She was born August 19, 1926, in Monmouth, Illinois to Kenneth and Lois (Goddard) Foster. She married Doran Carr, August 31, 1945, in Florence, South Carolina. He preceded her in death April 10, 2003.
Surviving are three daughters, Terry L. Hunter of Franklin, Indiana, Linda L Carr of Greenwood, Indiana, and Debbie L. Guerrero of Greenwood, Indiana, a son, Steve (and Diane) Carr of Victoria, Minnesota, seven grandchildren, Marcy (and Jim) Stewart, Tracy (and Dick) Bollman, Kim (and Andy) Busch, Michelle (and Pat) Hall, Tammy (and Rick) Beggs, Rachel (and John) Cleveland, and Steven (and Kayla) Carr, several great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sister and their husbands, Ruth (and Clyde) Quarterman and Irene (and Mike) Welsh, a grandson, David J. Helms, a great granddaughter, Nikki Beggs, and a son-in-law, William H. Hunter.
Audrey was born in Monmouth and later moved to Galesburg. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1943. In 1974 she moved to various locations in Florida, ending up in Boynton Beach, Florida until 2019 when she moved to Franklin, Indiana. She worked at Galesburg Cottage Hospital and later Westinghouse in Florida. She was a very active volunteer at her Boynton Beach community. She loved spending time with her family and playing poker with them, but she especially enjoyed winning at poker.
Visitation will be 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Chaplain Jordan Knight will officiate. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.
