Mrs. Carol J. (Peterson) McMillan

Mrs. Carol J. McMillan, 84, of Abingdon, Illinois, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 15, 2023 at home with her family by her side.

She was born March 24, 1938, in Abingdon, the daughter of Donald and Rosella (Schisler) Peterson. She married Marlin McMillan on March 24, 1955 in Abingdon. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1995. 

She is survived by two sons, Norman McMillan of Abingdon, Illinois, and Douglas (and Norma) McMillan of Naples, Florida; a daughter, Kim (and Anthony) Will of Summerset, Pennsylvania; a brother, Loren (and Cheryl) Peterson of Galesburg; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother: Donald Albin Peterson, and a son: Michael.

Carol was employed at Maytag for 30 years before retiring. She loved to read, gardening and crocheting. She loved to go out to eat with her friends and collected EVERYTHING.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 at the chapel. Chaplain Jordan Knight will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St Jude’s.
