Mrs. Christine Inez (Dillin) Peterson

Mrs. Christine I. Peterson, 65, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 11:55 pm Friday, December 31, 2021, at Marigold Rehab and Health Care Center.

Christine was born June 21, 1956, in Galesburg the daughter of Charlie J. and Marilyn E. (Hull) Dillin. She married David Stanley, she later married Donny Thirtyacre and then married Dale Peterson.

She is survived by her husband Dale of Galesburg; her three sons, Jared (Amanda) Stanley, Niklaus and Johnathan Peterson both of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Addison and Eryn Stanley, Hannah and Johnathan Peterson, Jr.; her siblings, Adrian (Vicki) Dillin and Brian (Linda) Dillin both of Galesburg, Patricia (Paul) Bicknell of Richland Center, Wisconsin, Rebecca (Mark) Brown of Marshall, Wisconsin, Wayne Dillin of Bell Fourche, South Dakota, Nancy Wilkinson of Galesburg, and Melody (the late Emilio) DeLaCruz of Kewanee, Illinois; many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother David Dillin in 2006.

Christine graduated from Galesburg High School in 1974 and received her associates of arts from Carl Sandburg College. In her younger years she enjoyed riding her bicycle around town and had worked for Flavor Freeze. Once she had her three boys, she decided to stay at home and raise her children. Christine was a wonderful baker of anything sweet. She continued her love of arts and crafts by making homemade cards for any occasion (including the envelopes).  She was a former member of the First Baptist Church.  

A Memorial Visitation will be from 11:00-Noon, Saturday January 8, 2022, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Due to guidelines associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and facemasks will be required. Cremation will be accorded.
