Mrs. Donna Lynn (Boone) Hagy

Mrs. Donna Lynn Hagy, 70, passed away at 10:10 PM Monday, March 11, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born December 2, 1948 in Monmouth, Illinois the daughter of Donald F. and Mable “Jane” Gittings Boone. She married David Toops on January 14, 1967 in Little York, Illinois and later married Devon Hagy.

Donna is survived by her mother, Mable “Jane” Boone of Monmouth; two daughters, Crystal L. “Cris” (Chuck) Ross of Monmouth and Rebecca S. “Becki” (Todd) Clayton of Galesburg; her brother, Steve Boone of Henderson, Illinois; two sisters, Thresa (John) Coursey of Owensboro, Kentucky and Joan Bennett of Monmouth; five grandchildren, Jake (Jamie) Taylor, Luke Clayton, Lauren Taylor, Hannah and Sarah Clayton and two great grandchildren, Makenzie and Easton Taylor. She is preceded in death by her father and her sister, Thrina Gaskill.

Donna graduated from Monmouth High School in 1966. She worked many years at Dairy Queen in Monmouth and the Grand Avenue Dairy Queen in Galesburg until her retirement. She enjoyed working at Dairy Queen, meeting new people and visiting with her regulars. Donna was an avid reader. She loved going to movies and baking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, her daughters and their families.

At Donna’s request, no services are scheduled and cremation will be accorded. Memorials may be made to either OSF St. Mary Medical Center or to OSF Hospice.
