Mrs. Donna L. (Nichols) Palmer

Mrs. Donna L. Palmer, 79, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 1:46 a.m. Sunday, October 15, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. 

She was born August 18, 1944, in Galesburg to Lawrence G. and Mildred I. (Smith) Nichols.  She married Larry R. Palmer, April 28, 1962, in Galesburg. 

Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Larry Palmer of Galesburg, two sons, Timothy (and Lori) Palmer of Knoxville, Illinois and Paul Palmer of Peoria, Illinois, two daughters, Kimberly (and John) Inness of Galesburg and Carolyn Landon of Galesburg, a sister, Sharon Grabill of Galesburg, nine grandchildren, Tiffany Leffler, Whitney (and Kevin) Zmijewski, Mike Huston, Jake (and Delsha) Inness, Andrew Palmer, Morgan Palmer, Dylan Landon, Bryce Palmer, and Kaylee Palmer, and three great grandchildren, Izabella, Palmer Mae, and Mallory.  She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Nichole Palmer, two sisters, Mary Meeker and Delores Welch, and a brother, Richard Nichols. 

Donna graduated from Corpus Christi High School in Galesburg in 1962.  She loved being a homemaker and taking care of her husband and five children.  She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. 

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Father Nathan Hopper officiating.  A burial will follow the service at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
