Mrs. Donna Marie (Morgan) Varner

Donna Marie Varner, 90, of Oneida, died at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022, in Allure of Lake Storey.

She was born May 7, 1932, in Galesburg, the daughter of Willard Dwight and Rosetta Pearl (Fones) Morgan Sr.  She married Charles L. Varner Sr. on November 26, 1952 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death on February 12, 2002.

She is survived by two sons, Charles “Lucky” (Debra) Varner Jr. of Wataga and Burl E. (Sue Runyon) Varner of Galesburg; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn (Dennis) Anderson; six grandchildren, Angela (Jim) Willenbrink, Julie (Jeff) Varner, Deidra (Matt) Gilson, Lani Varner, Christopher Varner, and Amber Varner; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Lee (Linda) Morgan of Wataga; two sisters, Mary Pattison of Galesburg and Lois Berg of Wataga; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ricky R. Varner; three brothers, David Morgan, Willard “Bud” Morgan Jr., and Robert Morgan; and two sisters, Maxine Line and Dorothy Smith.

Donna was a homemaker.  She also worked at Maytag for 25 years.  She loved taking care of kids (anyone’s kids), reading, gardening, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and playing Bingo and cards.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg.  Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the chapel with Pastor Jordan Knight officiating.  Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.  Memorial contributions in Donna’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  Online condolences may be left of the funeral home’s website at www.h-p-w.com.
