Gene and I were fortunate to have Eleanor (and Cork) a part of our lives since we can remember. Eleanor, Mary, and Jody were fast friends from church circle days. Eleanor was always kind, always caring, and always showing an interest in our lives both growing up and later as adults with children of our own. It was always a treat to open a card from Eleanor every birthday and every anniversary, and Mary’s grandchildren enjoyed the same while they were growing up. So, Eleanor is fondly remembered by three generations of Petrie’s. Few are lucky to enjoy lifelong, loyal friends such as Eleanor. Mary, Eleanor and Jody were an inseparable “trio” even after Mary moved to Naperville with Amtrak trips to Naperville and weekly three-way phone calls. Eleanor was a treasured friend and will be greatly missed. The Mary Petrie Family
