Mrs. Elsie Mathias Obituary

Mrs. Elsie L. Mathias, 86, of Abingdon, Illinois passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023, at her home.

Elsie was born November 29, 1936, in Supply, Arkansas, the daughter of Sterling and Evelyn (Welch) Legate. She married William Mathias, he survives.

Also surviving is her daughter, Debra Mathias; her sister, Wanda Legate Couter; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, David Mathias.

Elsie worked at Admiral/Maytag Corporation, retiring April of 1992. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She was a good mother and a hard worker.

Per Elsies’ wishes no services are planned and cremation will be accorded. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
