Mrs. Gloria Janeen (Waight) Davis, 75, of Knoxville, Illinois died 9:55 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 1, 1947, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth T. and Helen Mae (Gluba) Waight, Sr.
She attended Alexis High School and received her GED in 1969. She worked at St. Mary Medical Center for 35 years as a respiratory therapist. She retired in 2009.
Janeen married John Davis on August 30, 1974, at the Christian Church in Galesburg, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, David and Bob Waight, a son-in-law, Doug Vilardo, and a brother-in-law, Donald Hall.
She is survived by her husband of almost 48 years, John Davis of Knoxville, her children, Richard L. (and Pam) Sage, Jr. of Galesburg, Janel (and Shane) Hulick of Woodhull, Illinois, Niki (and Jon) Genisio of Orion, Illinois, Dustin (and Terrie) Davis of Galesburg and Dawn Medina of Galesburg, 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two brothers, K.T. “Tom” (and Erma) Waight of Sherwood, Arkansas and Gary (and Mary) Waight of Cornelius, North Carolina, sisters-in-law, Carol Waight of Galesburg and Rosie Waight of Bettendorf, Iowa, Sisters, Juanita (and Ron) Carlson of Galesburg and Barbara (and David Boegen) Hall of Knoxville, many nieces and nephews and her two dogs, Hershey and Gilligan.
Attending the events for her grandchildren, family get togethers, and cooking was Janeen’s favorite pastimes. Much fun and laughter were had at some weekly card games. Deviled Eggs, Anyone?
As per Janeen’s request, cremation will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the Calvary Assembly of God Church, 432 N. Linwood Rd., Galesburg with food and drinks being served. We want to celebrate the life of Janeen Davis, beloved wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, sister, and friend. RSVP would be nice, but not necessary, to her children, Richie Sage, Jan Hulick, Dustan Davis, Niki Genisio, or to her sister, Barb Hall.
