Mrs. Gail M. (Sholl) Dunn, 65, of Galesburg, passed away on Friday September 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Gail was born to Max and Barbra (Sholl) Hillman, on April 17, 1957 in Galesburg where she was also raised and spent most of her life.

Gail is survived by her sons: Joshua (Tina) Goodman, and Jacob (Mindy) Goodman, both of Galesburg; her step daughters: Melissa Locke, and Melinda Locke, both of Galesburg; her siblings: David Hillman of Minnesota, Michael Sholl of Fort Madison, Iowa, Billy Lee (Tracey) Ebbing of Galesburg, and Wayne Hillman of Galesburg; eight grandchildren: Haley, Jordan, Brendon, Hannah, Timothy, Mason, Draven, and Griffin; and eight great-grandchildren: Lydia, Colson, Macy, Mason Jr., Jaxon, Amari, Ava, Ellie. Gail is preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings: Anthony Hillman, and Linda Wittner.

Gail had lived most of her life in Galesburg, notably working at GP’s for several years before working in the in-home healthcare field for 30 years. Gail had a few passions in her life and enjoyed passing the time in many ways, her favorites being: crossword puzzles, clue games, and by shopping yard and garage sales. However, Gail mainly loved to fish. And she would take any and all chances she could to get out on the waters. And Gail loved her family above all else, and loved spending time with them. Gail particularly loved family reunions, and seeing all of her family’s smiling faces as they all enjoyed quality time together with some good food. And of course having to satisfy her notorious sweet tooth in the process with her absolute favorite snacks: Polar Pops and Cheetos.

Cremation will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
