Mrs. Georgia "Jan" Ann (Meadows) Boone

Mrs. Georgia “Jan” Ann Boone, 79 of rural London Mills, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at her home.

She was born May 7, 1942 in Galesburg, the daughter of George W. and Velma I. (Stanley) Meadows.  She married Edward E. Boone on October 24, 1958 at the Abingdon Christian Church.  He preceded her in death on October 25, 2003.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother Bob Meadows, and one sister Donna I. Anderson.

Jan is survived by one son, Danny E. (Patty) Boone of rural Abingdon; two daughters, Kathy A. (Onie) Rogers of Kewanee and Tracey L. Boone of Galesburg; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one sister, Vicki S. Brooks of Abingdon.

She attended Abingdon schools and later earned her GED in 1982.  She had lived in the Abingdon and rural London Mills areas all her life.  She was a proud homemaker.  She was a Gold Star Daughter and a member of the Fairview American Legion Auxiliary.

As she requested, cremation will be accorded and a private graveside service will be held at the Abingdon Cemetery.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
