Mrs. J. Diane (Garfield) Yelm

J. Diane Yelm, 88, of Galesburg, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in Marigold Health Care Center.

She was born April 9, 1934, in Galesburg, the daughter of Albert M. and Genevieve June (Lundquist) Garfield. 

She is survived by two sisters, Donna Yelm of Galesburg and Dixie Miller of Moline; four nieces and nephews, Vicki (Doug) Tenhaaf, Jon (Patricia Murphy) Yelm, Tracy (James) Steffen, and Tim (Julie) Miller; and eight great nieces and great nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, Steven Yelm; and two great nephews, Sage Yelm and Michael Tenhaaf.

Diane graduated from Galesburg High School in 1952.  She worked at Osco and then, Kmart, for many years.  Diane was a lifelong Galesburg resident.  She enjoyed working crossword puzzles.

Cremation will be accorded.  No visitation or service is planned.  Her remains will be interred at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with other family members.  Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Knox County Humane Society, in honor of her love of cats.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg is honored to serve the family.  Online condolences for the family may be left at www.h-p-w.com.
