Mrs. Jackie Lugene (Nelson) McFetridge

Mrs. Jackie Lugene McFetridge, 62, formerly of Cedar Rapids Iowa, passed away at 12:37 PM on Saturday April 15, 2023, at home and surrounded by her loving family.

Jackie was born to Franklin Eugene “Gene” and Rebecca Ann (Anderson) Nelson on July 24, 1960, in Galesburg. Jackie is survived by her husband Mark McFetridge, her children Shane (Carissa) Hart, and Julie McFetridge, her brother Dr. Jeff (Kathy) Nelson, and six grandchildren.

Jackie grew up in Abingdon, before eventually moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa and settling down with the love of her life Mark McFetridge. While in Cedar Rapids, Jackie worked for the Cedar Rapids Steel Transport as a delivery coordinator for 15 years before her retirement. Jackie and Mark had belonged to the New City Church in Cedar Rapids, becoming very active in the community and sharing a deep appreciation and love for their church family. Jackie also had a deep love for traveling, and spending every minute that she could with her grandchildren.

As per Jackie’s wishes, cremation has been accorded. A graveside service will be held for family and friends at 11:00 AM on June 24, 2023 at Abingdon Cemetery with Pastor Dan Winn officiating. Memorials may be made to the family. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Abingdon is honored to serve the family.
