Mrs. Joan M. (Oliver) Brown

Mrs. Joan M. Brown, 69, of Galesburg, Illinois died 5:15 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg

She was born October 1, 1951 in Galesburg to Louis and Helen (Nelson) Oliver.  She married James C. Brown, July 3, 1992 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death April 28, 2012.

Surviving is her son, Joshua Brown of Galesburg a brother, Joe (and Diane) Oliver of Galesburg, a nephew, Cary (and Michele) Oliver of Bloomington, Indiana, and a niece, Melanie (and James) Kochersperger of Galesburg.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Joan graduated from Galesburg High School in 1970.  She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Henderson Grove, Illinois where she was a Sunday School Teacher.  She was a member of TOPS and Knox County Home Extension and a reading buddy for Nielson School in Galesburg. 

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Henderson Grove Cemetery, Henderson Grove, Illinois.   Rev. Kurt Carlsen will officiate.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
