Mrs. Kathryn L. (Bundren) Bowling

Mrs. Kathryn L. Bowling, 85, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 5:55 am Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Marigold Health Care Center.

Kathryn was born March 18, 1934 in rural Avon, Illinois the daughter of Hobert and Lillian Keener Bundren. She married Donald P. Bowling in 1955 in Greenbush, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 2011.

Kathryn is survived by her son, David (fiancé Tammy Easley) Bowling of Galesburg, her daughter, Debra (Allen) Rock of Brighton, Michigan; a brother Robert (Ruth) Bundren of Galesburg; her sister, Eveleen Carrico of Henderson, Illinois; four grandchildren, Allison Bowling, Jennifer (John) Monroe, Heather (Mike) Hudson and Ariel Rock and six great grandchildren, Cannon and Kellan Monroe, Madison, Sean, Harper and Matthew Hudson. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Donald Wayne Bowling, Richard Douglas Bowling; two brothers, Ellis and Laverne Bundren and three sister, Hazel Bundren.

Kathryn worked for Admiral/Maytag Corporation for 27 years. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Monmouth. Kathryn’s favorite past time was spending time with her family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Daniel Siems officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Monmouth City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
