Mrs. Kathy I. (DeWeese) Zeigler

Kathy I. Zeigler, 81, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 11:41 am, Monday, October 28, 2024, at Marigold Rehabilitation and Health Care Center with her son, Scott by her side.

Kathy was born on September 24, 1943, in Galesburg, the daughter of Robert V. and Goldie (Willey) DeWeese. She married Dan Zeigler, they later divorced.

Kathy is survived by her son, Danny “Scott” (Vicki) Zeigler of Galesburg; two grandchildren, Dakota and Logan Zeigler; her great granddaughter Athena Viviana Zeigler and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Bill, Jerry, Rex, Gene, Jack and Roger DeWeese and her sister, Joan (DeWeese) Johnson.

Kathy graduated from Galesburg High School in 1961. She began working at OMC/Gale Products. She had also worked for Little King Restaurant and retired from Eagle Country Market. Kathy loved being outside and spending time with her two grandsons.

She was a very special person and will be greatly missed by her family. Her family would like to thank all who cared for her at Marigold Rehabilitation and Health Care Center and Hospice Compassus of Galesburg.

At Kathy’s request, cremation will be accorded. Memorials may be made the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital Fund, 200 Hawkins Drive, Iowa City, IA 52242.
