Mrs. Loylee (Nicholson) Davidson

Mrs. Loylee Davidson, 76, of Toledo, Ohio, formerly of Galesburg, Illinois died Saturday, November 6, 2021 at her home in Toledo. 

She was born September 25, 1945 in Birmingham, Alabama to Ted and Ella Mae (Peoples) Nicholson.  She married Andrew Davidson, February 11, 1969 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death August 6, 1998. 

Surviving is a daughter, Ruby Maxwell of Toledo, Ohio, three sisters, Lula Nicholson of Chicago, Illinois, Joanne Nicholson of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Jewelean Sims of Chicago, five grandchildren Ashely Maxwell, Michelle Davis, Raven Davison, Jeaniece Davidson, and Jammie Davidson, and five great-grandchildren Amarea Reed, Nevaeh Rose Marie, Amareana Davis, Elijah Davis, and Noah Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Andrew Davidson, her fiancé Ulysses Campbell, a two month old son, Lee Marvin Conley, a daughter, Dessie Rhodes, her sister Audrey May Works, and four brothers Fred Craig, Otis Nicholson, Ted Nicholson Jr, and Sterling Nicholson. 

Loylee moved to Galesburg in 1966.  She worked several jobs in this area, including, a dishwasher at the Holiday Inn, a laborer at Butler Manufacturing Company and Gates Rubber Company and an aide at Helen and Meads and Cottonwood Nursing Home.  She was a member of Second Baptist Church. 

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel.  Pastor Michelle Mazel will officiate.  Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
