Mrs. Margaret R. (Ehret) Huppenbauer

Mrs. Margaret R. Huppenbauer, 91, of Galesburg, Illinois formerly of Burlington, Iowa died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois.

She was born March 27, 1933, in Burlington, Iowa to G. Roy and Ester (Mower) Ehret. She married Paul Adolph Huppenbauer on July 12, 1953, in Burlington. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2011.

Surviving is her son, Steve (and Sherri) Huppenbauer of Galesburg, three grandchildren, Mitch Huppenbauer, Taylor (and Chandler) Jacobsmeier, and Hannah Huppenbauer, one great grandson, Madden Jacobsmeier, several nieces and nephews, and Megan Owens and Allison Owens whom she thought of as grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, David Huppenbauer, a brother, and two sisters.

Margaret graduated from Burlington High School in 1951. She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her husband and two sons. Margaret had a huge collection of buttons.

As Margaret requested, cremation will be accorded. A private cremation burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa.
