Mrs. Mary E. (Wilson) Forrester

Mrs. Mary E. Forrester, 79, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 11:40 pm Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Heartland Care Center.

She was born February 7, 1940 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Anthony Lee and Dorothy Irene Gamble Wilson. She married Ronald Dale Forrester on December 28, 1960 in Tampa, Florida. He preceded her in death.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Stacey Lynn Forrester of Florida; her sister, Bev Meeker of Champaign, Illinois; several nieces and nephews and her friend, Karen Lynch of Galesburg.

Mary worked as medical receptionist for 34 years, retiring in 1984. She graduated from the Academy of the Holy Names in Tampa, Florida. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mary enjoyed volunteering for the Spoon River Mental Health center and was named “Volunteer of the Year” in the late 1980s.
