Mrs. Mary M. "Marge" (Motz) Henson

Mrs. Mary M. “Marge” Henson, 87, of Galesburg, Illinois died 7:25 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Kewanee Care Center, Kewanee, Illinois. 

She was born November 19, 1933 in Oneida, Illinois to Carl and Glenna Mae (Wilmot) Motz.  She married Paul Henson, July 15, 1961 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death November 5, 2005.

Surviving are four sons, Paul Henson, Jr. of East Galesburg, Carl Admire of Oquawka, Illinois, Ed (and Mary Deutsch) Henson of East Galesburg, Bill (and Laura) Henson of Henderson, Illinois, and Jim (and Gaye) Henson of Oneida, three daughters, Sharon (and Terry) Huffaker of Lebanon, Tennessee, Debbie Davalu of Monmouth, Illinois, and Robin (and Steve Lanham) Nelson of Oquawka, a brother, Earl Motz of Galesburg, and sister, Vera Mae Heck of Galesburg, 15 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Carl Dale Motz and an infant sister, Joanne Heck. 

Mary was homemaker.  She also worked as a cook at the former Marge’s Café in Galesburg for several years.  She enjoyed woodworking, sewing quilts, and gardening.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

As Mary requested, cremation will be accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Lake Storey, Shelter #1, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the Kensington Activity Fund.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation service is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
