Mrs. Patricia Ann (Welch) Addis

Mrs. Patricia Ann Addis, 89, of Galesburg, Illinois died 5:53 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. 

She was born September 25, 1930 to George E. and Agnes M. (Wessels) Welch in Galesburg.  She married William A. Addis October 15, 1949 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death June 2, 2008. 

Surviving is a son, Michael Addis of Galesburg, five daughters, Linda (and Bill) Sornberger of Dahinda, Illinois, Nancy (and Bob) Fennig of Galesburg, Julie (and David) Smith of Berwick, Illinois, Jennifer (and Lawrence) Briggs of Galesburg, and Lisa (and the late, Jim) Shafer of Galesburg, a sister, Mary Abrams of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, ten grandchildren, two step grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, David Michael, a brother, Ronald Welch and a sister, Jean Mears. 

Patricia graduated from Corpus Christi High School in Galesburg in 1948.  She received her Associates Degree from Carl Sandburg College.  She worked as a LPN in the health care field from 1951 to 2000.  She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg.  She enjoyed reading, nature, and traveling.  She also enjoyed spending time and playing cards with her special friend, Lois.  Most of all, she loved her family.

As Patricia requested, cremation will be accorded.  Private graveside committal will be Friday, August 28, 2020 in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.  A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
