Rose Anne was born September 2, 1927, in Galesburg, as the daughter of Emil G. and Helen (McCullouch) Adolphson. Along the way, she married Kenneth H. Saul on June 8, 1947, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1996.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Cinthia (Ray) Baughman of Galesburg, Daniel (Kathy) Saul of Medina, Ohio, Sylvia Shepherd of Galesburg, and Greg (Jackie) Saul of Galesburg; her sister-in-law, Caroline Adolphson of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; six grandchildren, Kevin (Tracey) Baughman, Annie Saul, Emma Saul, Adam Shepherd, Andrew Shepherd, Aaron (Brittney) Shepherd and eight great grandchildren, Makenna, Norah, Lillyan, Ayla, Landen, Faith, Kailyn, and Dillon. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Emil Adolphson and Harold “Pug” Adolphson, her sister, Alice Walker, and one grandson, Brian Baughman.

Rose Anne was a dedicated wife and mother, staying at home to care for her family. She later worked for the Wonder Bread Thrift Store for many years. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1945 and was part of the 45ers Group that met monthly for lunch. Rose Anne was a devout Republican and served as a Knox County election judge. She enjoyed volunteering her time at Galesburg Cottage Hospital and the Orpheum Theatre. Rose Anne had a love for riding her bicycle wherever she needed to go. She especially enjoyed riding her bicycle to the YMCA for her Aquatic classes. She passed on this love of riding bikes to her daughters, Cinthia and Sylvia. She was an avid Cubs fan and had a love for collecting teapots. She also traveled all over the world with her husband, from Alaska and Hawaii to New Zealand and Australia, as well as many more places. During their trips, they relived the WWII war locations together.

Rose Anne is a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she volunteered in the kitchen for funeral lunches, was a great volunteer for their LOGOS Youth program and a member of the Women’s Circle.
