Mrs. Rosemary Brotherton, 92, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at her assisted living home in Galesburg.
Rosemary was born in Galesburg, to Roy I. and Doris Genevieve White Peterson, on March 20, 1928. She graduated from Galesburg High school in 1946, and later on in her life married Ward Brotherton. She had also moved to Houston Texas, where for ten years she worked at a tollbooth.
Rosemary is survived by her many nieces and nephews, Vicki (Robert) Johnson, Carol Ann Moore, Linda (Thomas) Sailer, Teri (Lee) Malone, Deanne Tupcienko, Karen (Dave) Becker, Carol Dean, Michael Christ and Bill (Christy) Arthur; her sister-in-law, Marie Peterson.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Edward Peterson and her sisters Maryan Leafgreen, and Shirley Bella.
Rosemary was known for her upbeat and positive attitude, and her all-around great sense of humor. She loved to read and collect little knick knacks to decorate her home with. Among her favorites were Hummels and Lladro porcelain figurines.
Cremation is to be accorded with a burial taking place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Galesburg. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg chapel are helping assist the family in services. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
